She only asks that you don't overwhelm her and only ask for one a day but, come back as often as you wish. Thanks for dropping in! I made a tissue box cover for a dear blogging friend @Paper Crows and Dragonflies to cheer her up. She recently suffered a serious illness but is recovering very well. Her favorite colours are blues and purples and of course she loves dragonflies. I used Coordinations and sanded the embossing and added dragonfly brads on the side and made a mirror paper dragonfly for the top the little pearls are from Viva Decor Pearl pen. Thanks for that Caryl.

MY FIRST CARD USING MY NEW VAGABOND

Thanks for stopping by. I got a Vagabond die cut machine from Santa and I got to use it yesterday. First I applied various blue and purple alcohol inks to glossy card stock and then I ran it through the Vagabond with the clock works folder. Then I die cut Umbrella man with the Bigz diecut and stamped on him with Moonlight white Brilliance. The Stamp is by Judikins 2333 J it's signatures from famous artists. I picked it up at a yard sale for less than 1/2 price. I popped U man with 3D foam tape. I then die cut the mover and shaper with the arrow and embossed 3 times with clear. Die cut the quote with left over background and a tag shape. Layered as you see and mounted on black card. This card is for a man and I think it isn't too feminine. Hope you enjoy. P.S I do my A.I. one colour at a time. I feel I have more control.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are having a good start to the new year ! This card is my first this year and I probably wouldn't have got it done if it wasn't necessary. My mojo has gone on vacation.

This is a grid card using a Cheery Lynn die cut. I took a workshop (twice) to get it straight in my head. The paper used for the image is Graphics 45 with Be Creative tape on top to add ultra thick. That tape is fabulous. It is heat resistant and I have been using it for years.

If I can use it instead of glue I do.

The rest is not self explanatory by me. So, if you want me to come over and play....

I am a visual person, I have to do to show.

Hi Everyone, Today I am posting one of 14 cards I made for a group swap. We make cards instead of cookies. I used Sizzex Poinsettia set and blended Adirondack Current applied a swarovksy crystal in centre. Reindeer and numbers were die cut from TH new movers and shapers set. I used pre glittered card for the reindeer. The numbers I applied Be Creative tape on the back before I die cut of velvet paper so I didn't have to use glue.
The inside verse is from Quietfire Designs in BC. I blended Antique DI around the quote and added a Fir Tree brad.

ATC DRESS FORM

I thought I would show you one of the ATC's I made also for the swap. I made them all the same but different buttons. What I did with the background was brayer my embossing folder and emboss ... ink only on the recessed area. I used my new dies from Tim H Atc size dress form and spool. I coloured the stand of the dress form with a black sharpie. I distressed the spool with Distress Tea dye. Then I put double sided tape on the back and wrapped embroider thread around the spool and added another piece of d.s tape to adhere. I got the embroidery thread from the dollar store a lot for cheap. I wasn't going to use my good thread. But, it does seem to be nice enough to stitch with. Surprise, surprise.

I've used a lot of Dezinaworld images and some Graphic 45 images. There are any tassels because we will be putting them on a large split ring and add ribbons to that.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
I made this card for a friend the images are from Dezinaworld's Trick or Treat set. I used orange coredination paper ran it through a Sizzix folder called Fall fence. Sanded the high spots and enhanced them more with DI Marmalade. Then I distressed the edges and added more Marmalade DI and Walnut DI. The sentiment is from Stampendous (L147). I used a charcoal pencil to add drop shadow here and there. Mounted on black card and drew a gold line around. Inside says Trick or Treat in orange embossing powder.
The envelope I used a die cut given to me by a blogging friend Donna, thanks Donna! Did the font myself.

TRICK OR TREAT GIFT BAG

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all well. Today I've made a purchased gift bag from the dollar/pound store into a Trick or Treat bag using images from Dezinaworld. First I took some cream daisy trim and dyed it with Wild Honey Distress stain. Attached it with double sided tape. In real life you can't see the tape but due to my lack of skill in pic taking you'll have to imagine. I made an orange rosette from Tim Holtz die cut and attached the Wonderful Witch. I also attached the pennant letters for HALLOWEEN. It still needed something so I stamped tiny spider webs in gold and little ghosts in Moonlight white from Brillance. BOO!

It's getting to be that time of year. I am an October baby so, I am partial to fall and Halloween. I don't see anything Pagan about it these days except the fun of Trick or Treat and costumes. A Little Gift Bag

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all well. I had to get a new printer so that slowed me down a bit. I just printed the ShabbyBlue set from Dezinaworld and thought I would like to make something different. I bought a gift bag from the dollar (pound) store and cut out my image and die cut the layers to put it on. Then I used double sided tape around the top and added braid. I also added distress stickles to the rose and wings. Easy way to pretty up a gift bag.

Hi Everyone, I should have photographed instead of scanning but I didn't have time.
The Hummingbird is by Animal Spirit Stamps. The circle die cuts are Spellbinder Large and small. The leaf is on gold mirror and the die cut is by Marianne Design Creatables. The quote on the greeting is from Suzanne Cannon of Quietfire designs. She is incredible. I stamped and embossed the Hummingbird on black card and embossed with detail powder. Then I painted with twinkling H2O's. I find that the paint rolls off the embossing and makes you look like you know what you're doing. (I hope). It's a shame I am not a better posting person because the card is quite shimmery. OH yes the card itself is on purple shimmer and the centre circle is on ivory shimmer and glossy black.

AFTER I GOT THROUGH WITH HER.

Well on Saturday we are having a 65th birthday for a wonderful lady. She also just retired as a special education teacher. If you look closely she has a boa constrictor (for really) on her neck in her classroom. How she could stay calm is beyond me.
I made this card thanks to the die cuts from Donna Thank you so much Donna. Chris loves Crows and Ravens and as soon as I got these I knew what I was going to do,
We intend to thoroughly "get" her . She doesn't like pinks or purples or hearts or spiders or SNOW. So needless to say they will all be there (except the snow) Hence the purple outfit in her altered picture. She is really funky and loves lime green and blue nail varnish. So we will all be wearing that too. I hope to include pictures after her party.

This week the theme is "Trains & Planes" at Gingersnap Creations. I remembered I had some Planes (3D) images from Dufex . I used the background from Dezinaworld's dollar set . This background is called "Flight". I've given you a close up of the bi-plane I cut the entire plane out as I didn't want it's background interfering. My hubby just loves this one. He used to be a pleasure pilot and loves planes, skydiving & paragliding. Maybe I will keep for his birthday next year when he'll have forgotton all about it. LOL

Gingersnap - Gears, Cogs and Watch Bits

This is the second creation for Gingersnap Creations "Gears, Cogs and Watch Bits". I used images from Dezinaworld Steampunk 4 set and cut them out. I used Tim Holtz clock face die cut with old cereal boxes, I can tell you I was more than pleased with the weight of the chipboard. I then inked the clock face with distress barn door and applied clear embossing powder and flicked the back hard to make some fall off. I heated it and then rubbed distress walnut stain and attached with a brad, It is called rusted metal by Tim but I didn't use traditional colours. I also die cut Tim's gears and did the same. The background is from Dezinaworld's Mega background set. If you have any questions please email me.

HI ALL ! My friends just bought a new home on Vancouver Island. I am sad I won't see them as much. But I am happy I got to use my new Tim Artful Dwelling die cuts and Mini Openings. Another friend gave me A LOT of Tria alcohol inks as she has become sensitive to the scent. Thankyou Sharon for thinking of me Sharon. I applied Tim's tissue tape on the back of pre cut cereal boxes and die cut them out. Then I applied the Tria ink. The little people in the window are from a Stampers Anonymous cube I have. Then I used things from my stash. I enjoyed making it. You should pop over to Candy's blog and see what she did with this die cut AWESOME!

Sorry I've MIA again. I have some new Animal Spirit stamps and needed to make a card for a friend. I didn't want to post it until I gave it to her. We have a postal strike so that makes things in the snail mail world difficult. You don't realize how much you still need them till they are gone.
Any way back to the card. I stamped with archival black ink. Coloured with Prismacolor pencils. You can see it too well but I added a little sparkle with Spica clear pen, attached pearl hearts. If you enlarge this and find a little ladybug which is in all her designs it is supposed to be good luck. Here is the link if you want to check the line out. Fabulous.

Hi Everyone, This weeks challenge is from Dec. 2007 series of Tim Holtz 12 days of Christmas tag. You can go to the link here and learn how to do Shabby Chic.

This is my interpretation. I used Tim's glossy black tag it's nice and big. Stamped my images following the tutorial and used Sail boat blue and Juniper daubers. I kind of like the old metallic look. Hi Everyone! it's a holiday here in Canada. But when you are retired every day is a holiday. Hmmmf. Anyway I was inspired by two challenges Simply Less is More and Studio L3.
I was inspired by Tim Holtz technique. One I have used many times but had forgotten about. Give me a break I am not getting any younger. I actually remembered to write down everything I used so here is the Recipe;

stamps : Elusive Images - quote, Stampendous Agapanthus cluster. (fabulous real flower), Hero Arts butterfly (2001)
mini mister
cut n dry nibs
white card stock
Adirondack inks Sunshine Yellow, Mountain Rose, Purple Twilights, Raspberry, Pesto, Oregano, Archival Black
distresser

I inked my flower according to Tim's Tutorial, stamped butterfly and coloured with cut n dry nibs with the Sunshine Yellow and Mountain Rose. Distressed edges and edged with more Purple Twilights . Stamped quote with Archival black. It took me longer to write this post than to do the card. I had fun doing it. Oh yes, this was the second print of three. Each impression was lovely, but I chose this one for this card. I just misted lightly with each printing.

GINGERSNAP CREATIONS-SCENIC

Gingersnap challenge this week is scenic. I made this seen with Pan Pastels and masking. The stamped part was with Staz-On ink. I bought a cheap little black frame from the dollar store that I think was just right for this. As it sits the colours seem to meld more. I do have a vivid imagination maybe that's it. I forgot to say I used Stampscapes stamps a a couple of Art Impressions.

Another challenge, and more lessons. What did I learn. Make sure your ink pads are well inked, lucky me I never buy an inkpad with out reinkers. Buy more blending pads, I used cut and dry but it would have been so much easier with the blending tool. #2. Don't say YUK this looks horrible before you have completely finished. I almost turfed it. I am not very adept YET at adding embellishments and nothing I tried seemed to cut it. I am very open to suggestions. The only thing I did was highlight a few words and his teeth with a white opaque pen. So, here is my entry. Do stop by Studio L3 and discover some REAL artists.
P.S This tag is a Post card on the back so I thought the Hotel stamp would be appropriate.

JFF challenge is to use our ends of card 1 1/4" x 8 1/2" and fold in half to 4 1/4".
UK size is usually 2.5 x 11 folded is 2.5 x 5. But I am in Canada so I made 1.25 x 4.25 folded
Not hard to find scraps when you are a paper hoarder. As I was making this I thought not only are they fun and quick they could be adorable books marks as the slide over the page or you could add an eyelet and ribbon. GRUNGY MONDAY - 06

Hi, on this entry I used a manilla tag and Juniper paint dauber. Then I distressed it with Pine Needles distress ink. The dress form stamp is from Inkadinkado. I distressed it with Antique Linen, Tea, Old Paper & Victorian Velvet. Then I added black picot ribbon on the waist and added a Prima flower distressed lightly with Pine Needle and added a black crystal for centre. The little fairy is from a cube stamp from Stampers Anonymous. I stained the lace with Antique Linen. Added ribbon. I haven't mastered the art of embellishments like some of the fabulous entries on @ Studio L3 you should really hop over OUCH!! my kitty just smacked me for a treat the little brat. Anyhow, please check out the entries.

DOMINOES - JUST FOR FUN

I must admit I didn't just make this. But, it is one of my proudest moments. The stamp I used was a big one of flowers from Tin Can Mail (old) Inkadinkado 207 91656-Y. Like the tutorial I made a template and isolated the flowers I wanted. Sanded, cleaned, stamped with Staz-On and still heat set. then I used Simple Solutions and polished pigments powders and dipped my brush in the solution and then in the powder and mixed it on palette paper. Actually I think the shiny side of butchers paper could be used for that. Painted till I liked it and when dry I sprayed it a few times lightly with Krylon glossy sealer OUTSIDE in an empty box.

Must do this again it was fun. Now I am entering it in JFF

LESS IS MORE - WHITE ON WHITE

Thanks to my blogging friend Zoe I've found a new challenge. White on White from Less is More. I don't know which was more challenging, keeping the white clean, or photographing it. My lovely hubby gave me instructions. Keep it flat, use a tripod, set camera to highest resolution and use a timer. Well, I am not displeased with the detail. I made him a good supper for a reward. Comedy Mad Man

I have a laugh everytime I look at this set and see this character. It isn't the first time I've used him. He makes me laugh. The set is from Dezinaworld Men 1 . If you live in Canada you are probably familiar with Don Cherry former Hockey Pro turned Hockey sport caster. He wears the wildest suits and his collars always look like this fellows. I hope he gives to a smile today.

JUST FOR FUN - INCHIES CHALLENGE

Well, this challenge was calling my name. When I first started making inchies I thought "what now?" Thanks to challenges like this I got my inspiration. To make the inchies I used black stampboard inchies, added daisy stickers and applied UTEE to make tiles. IN HINDSIGHT.... I will use Glossy accents to save my fingers (if you know what I mean. I lost one inchie somewhere in my craft room as it stuck to my finger and I flung it.
The background is Stylized flowers by Cuttlebug. I applied DI Antique Linen. The die cuts are from Spellbinders, sorry I don't remember the name. I stippled a little Brilliance Cosmic Copper to the brown layer just to perk it up. Sentiment is from Hanko....don't ask me??? I outlined the inchies with gold krylon but you can't see it too well here. Visit the JUST For Fun Challenge.

Thanks for the helpful hints on UTEE. Duh! I didn't even think about sprinkling more on. I tried to pick it up with tweezers and when it got stuck that's when it bit me. I am okay though.

Hi Everyone, lately I have seen a few posts that aren't completely uploading. Usually that is because of 1 of 2 things. First the post image needs to be compressed to a smaller size 80 kbps is good. Second reduce the # of post days before it goes to archives. Less than 10 is preferable. You can find how to change this in your settings - format. Hope this helps.

What a wonderful surprise I received from Mary Wise in Australia today. She is a kind lady from my Technique Junkies group that sent me this beautiful card she made because I commented that I would like to touch it . It is so tactile in reality. Not only was the card lovely but the envelope has beautiful postage stamps that I will save for re-purposing. She also included a lovely little verse that I won't share until she says I can.
But, I was so excited to show you I couldn't wait.

Peacock fun

HI All!
I was at a friends yesterday to see her new crafting room. My jaw hit the floor it's spectacular. We played and she gave me a large piece of silk paper. I ran a piece thru a peacock envelope folder she had and rubbed stream ink on the high points. We were quite surprised it embossed. Then when I got home I cut two peacocks in black the frame and extra are included on the die. I applied Perfect Pearls on one Peacock and layered them slightly askew for a drop shadow effect. The colors are much richer in reality. I think I should have used my camera instead of the scanner to get it. Planted lots of flowers today. My gardener that came to aereate my lawn for Spring left me a gift of 64 pink impatiens and then I planted them and some Asters, purples allisyum, and Pink ivy Geranium and Wave Petunias also a pretty pink. HOPEFULLY the Squirrels won't pull them up. MY aching back says I need a cuppa. So have a great evening or day whatever time it is in your neighborhood.

Various Distress inks, ie; chipped sapphire, yellow mustard, wild honey, mahogany, stormy sky, crushed olive. You get it.

Ranger watermark resist, because I was supposed to use Claudine Hellmuth's Studio multi medium gel for resist and I didn't have it. I tried another gel medium and it didn't work. Soooo, I decided to use my noodle and made a glossy tag and used the watermark resist. I think the effect is the same EXCEPT, you must use glossy paper.

When I am out and about I will get Claudine's product because it can be used on regular paper.

Hope I didn't make myself clear as mud.

Another card made from Technique Junkies technique. It's called "Neutral Shadows" I used Distress Pumice for the shadow. Stamp used by Stampendous Agapanthus Cluster. Banner is a Spellbinders Ribbon banner set outlined with gold krylon. As they say practice makes perfect, so I intend to practice.

Take a Word - Umbrella

Take a Word - Umbrella, something I am all too familiar with in British Columbia, just have to look outside.
I decided to give the old brolly a romantic feel. Used Spellbinders for the die cuts and Cuttlebug envelopes for texture. I very lightly applied Victorian Velvet to the little hearts on the embossing. The Prima flowers were spritzed with a Perfect Pearls mix and dusted the rest with chalk pastels. Edged the card with Distress Spun Sugar. Image is from Dezinaworld and fussy cut, something I really enjoy from my paper doll days I suppose. My poor Mom used to let me cut up her Sears catalogue even though she probably needed it.

Hi Everyone,
Here is my tag for Grungy Monday. See the link on my side bar. I didn't have any masks so I did faux masking. I now appreciate having "real masks". I didn't have an appropriate reindeer stamp so I used textured grunge board and the Bigz die of Reindeer Flight. I just thought of a stamp I could have used,... oh well. I also used the "wish" die and cut around it and applied perfect pearls. I didn't photo the little charm at the top too well. I found it on the road and colored it with butterscotch alcohol ink.

Gingersnap - rust, copper, ginger

This is my entry for Gingersnap Creations Challenge. I used Magenta's limited edition but I forget the name.
Alcohol inks were ginger, rust, latte, mushroom . The background is a stamp I won from Cornish Heritage. I used distress rust. They aren't in business anymore sadly, but I love their stamps and I see some of their line is being picked up by other companies. The beautiful little flower is from a stamping friend Caryl. Thanks Caryl. I used archival black for the kitty and Ranger glossy card. I hope I didn't leave anything out.

P.S. I am not happy with how it photographed. But, there are worse things in life.
